About Us
History
South Cheshire Harriers (SCH) was formed at the beginning of 1986 by a group of runners who ran with Crewe and Nantwich AC originally in order to concentrate on road running; several of the group are still SCH members and continue to run with the club. Club activities now include, not only road running, but also cross-country, fell and hill running. Currently, there are over 250 paid-up club members and just under half of these are women.
Our initial home was at the P-Way Club on Gresty Road until that closed (early 1993) when the club then moved to the South Cheshire College in Danebank Avenue.
In August 1997, we moved to our third home at the Oakley Centre in the centre of Crewe.
August 2007 saw us move to our current base, Crewe Vagrants (following an EGM where members voted in favour of the Vagrants over Haslington Cricket Club).
Since the move, our membership has steadily increased from around 70 to 350+ ranging from beginners to international age-group representatives.
Club colours: Sky Blue top with South Cheshire Harriers written in red. – the kit was redesigned and updated in 2020 which can be seen here.
We race and compete throughout the year, both individually and in team competitions such as the Cheshire Road Running Grand Prix, North Staffs Road Running Association, North Staffs Cross
